Delay in Rank One Registration for 2026–2027
Dear Milford Student-Athletes and Families,
We want to make you aware of an issue that is currently affecting athletic registration through Rank One.
The Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association (DIAA) has informed schools that the Delaware Department of Education (DDOE) has identified an issue with the statewide student data export from Infinite Campus. As a result, public schools across Delaware are experiencing delays in importing correctly formatted 2026–2027 student data into Rank One.
Because of this issue, some student-athletes - particularly incoming students and those new to the district - may not yet appear in the Rank One system.
Please know that this is a statewide issue and is not specific to Milford. The DDOE and DIAA are actively working to resolve the problem as quickly as possible. We will continue to monitor the situation and will communicate any updates or approved workarounds as soon as they become available.
We appreciate your patience and understanding. Thank you for your cooperation as we work through this issue together.
MCA Football Head Coach - David Way
Milford Athletics is excited to announce the appointment of David Way as the new Head Football Coach at Milford Central Academy!
Coach Way brings more than a decade of football coaching experience, with a proven record of developing young athletes and building successful programs. His coaching background includes youth football, Pop Warner, AYF, flag football, and semi-professional football.
Before joining Milford, Coach Way served as Head Coach and President of the Beacon Bears Football and Cheer organization in New York, where he led the program to three conference championships and four division championships. He also founded the Beacon Bears Flag Football program and served as Defensive Coordinator for the NY Bears.
Coach Way joined Milford Central Academy as an assistant football coach last season, where he quickly became an invaluable member of the program. In addition to coaching, he played a key role in creating offensive and defensive playbooks, developing wristband systems, managing the program's social media and photography, and supporting equipment, scheduling, and day-to-day operations.
His extensive experience in program management, fundraising, facilities, equipment, scheduling, and staff leadership will be a tremendous asset as he leads the next chapter of MCA Football.
Coach Way's coaching philosophy centers on developing student-athletes through discipline, accountability, effort, teamwork, and character.
"I have coached athletes from Tiny Mites through high school-aged players. The one thing I am proudest of is watching those kids grow up and become high school athletes. It's not about the wins and losses—it's about teaching accountability, effort, discipline, and teamwork while helping them build confidence both on and off the field. I am committed to developing not only the players but the entire program."
Please join us in congratulating Coach David Way as he takes the reins of the Milford Central Academy Football program!
MCA Volleyball Head Coach - Edwine Corvil
Milford Athletics is excited to announce Edwine Corvil as the new Head Coach of the Milford Central Academy Volleyball program!
A proud Milford alumna, Coach Corvil has been part of the Milford community her entire life. She was a four-year volleyball player at Milford High School and continued her playing career at Delaware State University, where she recently graduated with a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Special Education.
Coach Corvil's passion for volleyball has remained strong since childhood. Even after graduating, she has continued to return to Milford to support the program and cheer on the next generation of student-athletes.
"I have loved the sport of volleyball since I was little, and to this day I still come back to Milford to watch the games because I love the game and seeing girls with the same passion I had growing up."
We are excited to welcome Coach Corvil back home and look forward to her leadership in developing our MCA volleyball program and preparing our student-athletes for future success.
Welcome back to Milford, Coach Corvil!
MCA Field Hockey Head Coach Katie Kenton
Milford Athletics is excited to announce Katie Kenton as the new Head Coach of the Milford Central Academy Field Hockey program!
Field hockey has been a major part of Coach Kenton's life since she first picked up a stick in seventh grade. Her passion for the game led her to a successful playing career that continued through college after being recruited to play at Western Maryland College. As a freshman in high school, she even had the opportunity to travel to Europe to train and compete, an experience that helped shape her love and understanding of the sport.
Coach Kenton also brings valuable coaching experience to MCA. She previously served as a high school assistant coach and Junior Varsity head coach, and has remained active in the sport by helping coach a U12 field hockey program through practices and tournament competition.
Many Milford families already know Coach Kenton as a 6th Grade ELA and Social Studies teacher at Milford Middle School, where she works with students every day and helps prepare many future Buccaneers for their transition to MCA.
As we welcome Coach Kenton, we also want to thank Coach Stacey Seilheimer for her incredible leadership of the MCA Field Hockey program over the past several years. Coach Seilheimer guided the Buccaneers to two undefeated seasons and helped build a program known for its success, teamwork, and positive culture. We are grateful for everything she has done for our student-athletes and the lasting foundation she leaves behind.
With her passion for the sport, coaching experience, and familiarity with the Milford community, Coach Kenton is a great fit to lead the next chapter of MCA Field Hockey. We are excited to see the program continue to grow and thrive under her leadership.
Welcome to the Buccaneer family, Coach Kenton!

MCA Spring Sports Schedule

Dear Parents and Guardians,
I am writing to provide an updated overview of the transportation plan for our MCA/Middle School Spring Sports season beginning March 2.
DAILY TRANSPORTATION (MMS to MCA)
Milford Athletics will continue providing a daily shuttle for our 6th grade student-athletes from MMS to MCA, Monday through Friday. This shuttle will support teams practicing at MHS facilities.
Coaches will be present at dismissal each day to receive the 6th graders. Once all student-athletes have arrived, teams will remain together at MCA to gather equipment and prepare for practice.
INCLEMENT WEATHER PLANS
In the event of inclement weather, the daily shuttle will continue to run as scheduled. Teams will remain at MCA and adjust practice plans accordingly. This may include using the MCA gymnasium or other available space, or holding a team meeting until the scheduled end time. This structure will help reduce confusion regarding cancellations.
BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL TRANSPORTATION TO MILFORD LITTLE LEAGUE PARK
An additional bus will meet the Baseball and Softball teams at the MCA bus parking lot between approximately 3:15–3:20 PM to transport them to Milford Little League Park, weather permitting.
Parents will be responsible for picking up their student-athletes at Milford Little League Park at the conclusion of practice, typically between 5:15–5:30 PM.
GAME DAYS
On game days, the bus will pick up 6th grade players from MMS approximately 15 minutes prior to MCA dismissal. The bus will then stop at MCA to pick up the remaining team members before departing for that day’s home or away contest.
Please review the full game schedule by visiting: https://www.milfordmiddlesports.com/
Thank you for your continued support of our student-athletes and programs.

We are providing daily transportation for 6th graders traveling from Milford Middle School to MCA for practices (Monday–Friday). To keep everything running smoothly, it’s important that practice schedules remain consistent.
-
Practice Days: 6th graders will ride the bus from Milford Middle School to MCA after school and wait in a supervised study hall until their coaches arrive.
-
Away Games: MCA teams are usually excused at 2:00 p.m. On those days, 6th graders will leave Milford Middle School at 1:45 p.m. to meet their teams at MCA.
-
Home Games: Transportation will follow the same routine as practice days. Students will report to study hall and join their coaches before the game.
We appreciate your support in helping make this process smooth for all of our student-athletes.
Message from the Milford Athletics

We are proud to announce Janin Rodriguez as the new Head Coach of MCA Cross Country program!
Coach Rodriguez currently serves as a paraprofessional at Milford Central Academy and brings with her a deep passion for running and years of hands-on experience. Her journey with the sport began in 2012, and in 2013 she earned All Kent County honors for her performance.
